For about 6 or more months, I’ve been using white vinegar in the fabric softener (& sometimes the bleach dispenser -I don’t use bleach) to help soften clothes, since I don’t use a dryer, and hang dry. If your machine does not have a hot water setting, then select a “white” or a “stain” cycle setting. Thus, you may want to avoid doing this.
